Abstract

This book is closely related to our earlier works, Identité et réalité (2nd ed., Paris: Alcan, 1912) [Identity and Reality, trans. Kate Loewenberg (New York: Macmillan, 1930] and De l’explication dans les sciences (Paris: Payot, 1921). In the same way as we examined analogous concepts in those works, here we shall study the concepts of Einstein and his continuators from a strictly limited point of view, attempting to expose the thought processes used by these scientists and their supporters.
