Abstract

A novel cathode material based on a bulk polymer loaded with iodine has been tested in lithiun iodine cells (1) The material is doped out of the gasphase to give a final composition of 83% b.w. iodine or is mixed with iodine to give any desired degree of loading. The polymer exhibits a conductivity of 10-9Ω-1cm-1 in the undoped and 10-2Ω-1cm-1 in the doped stage.
