Two Astronomical Tractates of Abbo of Fleury
Abbo of Fleury (Abbo Floriacensis) was born about 945 in or near Orléans and died (or was murdered) at Réole in 1004. He himself was elected abbot of Fleury (St. Benoît sur Loire), capping a long and successful career as a teacher. Just prior to his election, he had been in England for about two years to share his teaching experience with English schoolmasters in an attempt to improve the monastic schools in that country.1
