Abstract

Activity in liver transplantation is steadily growing throughout the world. This is reflected by two surveys from last year. According to the situation in Europe, Starzl reported on 424 recipients treated in nine institutions by July 1,1984 [1]. Scharschmidt analyzed data on 819 total patients 319 of whom had been transplanted in three experienced European centers between May 1968 and August last year [2].
