Abstract
The vestibular part of the inner ear may suffer accidental injury either from mechanical energy (direct traumatization by surgical instruments, indirect traumatization by transmission of high energy sound) or it may be injured by thermal energy, due to unskilful drilling close to the osseous labyrinth.
