Abstract

In this chapter we describe some of the issues involving computer hardware used in cardiac imaging. Cardiac imaging, with respect to computer hardware, is not greatly different than image processing used in any other application except that more recently there has been great interest in real-time acquisition systems for use in digital subtraction angiography, echocardiography, and other forms of cardiac imaging.
