Summary
The flow visualisation technique developed at Ecole Centrale de Lyon (contract no. 017-SRF) has been used for the study of a plume dispersion on a site simulating the experiment field work by CRABOL (contract no. 010-SRF).
Very stable situations could be reached by cooling the surface of the model with liquid nitrogen. Quasi-laminar flows were obtained with these conditions, while the neutral and slightly stable cases performed fully turbulent flows. Results on the velocity and concentration fields are given and compared with the field data.
