Abstract

The production rate of injection moulded thermoplastic parts, and the percentage of those parts that conforms to acceptable quality requirements, can be increased substantially by improving the heat transfer from the mould. This improvement can be obtained by: (i) accelerating the rate of heat transfer; and (ii) balancing heat transfer evenly throughout the mould.
