Abstract
Likelihood ratio tests for and against a stochastic ordering between two multinomial populations are considered by Robertson and Wright as discrete analogues for the one-sided Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests. They obtained closed form expressions for the maximum likelihood estimates when all frequencies are positive. The purpose of this article is to provide closed form expressions for the maximum likelihood estimates with fixed and random zeros.
