New Results on Proportional Navigation Trajectories
Proportional navigation strategy is studied in this paper. The differential equations of motion of the guided point under this strategy are nonlinear even for the simplest of target motions. True proportional navigation and pure proportional navigation strategies are discussed and results of computational studies based on recent formulations for the former strategy are presented in this paper. These results include trajectory plots, lateral acceleration and time of flight.
