Abstract

Generally infrared radiation is thought to be mainly caused by emission from dust. Only in a few sources line emission in the infrared has been observed, thanks to measurements form balloons and airplanes. This database has been greatly increased by observations of the Low Resolution Spećtrometer (LRS) aboard the IRAS satellite. Most of this line emission has been observed in Planetary Nebulae and HII regions.
