Abstract

The proton capture excitation functions for the reactions 63cu(p, J i)64Zn and 89Y(p, J i)90Zr leading to several resolved states in the final nuclei, have been measured in the GDR excitation energy region. They display distinct resonance shape. The energy dependence of the gamma-ray strength function built on an excited state in 90Zr was determined. The results support the Brink hypothesis. The excitation functions have been well reproduced by the combined CN and DSD calculations. The extracted spectroscopic factors compared with those derived from the stripping reactions show a distinct correlation.
