Abstract

There are two basic conceptions of a design process: “top-down” and “down-top”. The first one is more popular and usually more efficient. But in some special cases the “down-top” process is more advantageous. Specially in case of existence of a standard build elements set. This paper aims at indicating a way of formalization of this problem and at forming main ideas of proper algorithm. The matrix of compatibility between structure elements is presented and so is the matrix containing relations between standard functions of designed object and basic structure elements. The concept of a “genetic code” is introduced for technical objects. It is used for controlling the “down-top” composition of a structure.
