Abstract
The Mount Wilson solar program has figured prominently in the field of solar physics throughout this century. This review describes the development of the instrumentation and the progress of the research at Mount Wilson from 1904 to 1984.
The National Optical Astronomy Observatories are operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under contract to the National Science Foundation.
