Abstract
We shall study in this chapter the internal space-time symmetries of massless particles. As was noted in Chapter III, the little group for massless particles is locally isomorphic to the group of Euclidean transformations on a two- dimensional plane which is often called E(2). Therefore, the study of massless particles requires a careful investigation of the E(2) group or its unimodular subgroup SE(2), and its relation to the little group. We already know that the generators of these two groups satisfy the same set of commutations relations.
