Abstract
The theory of information is subject not only to scientific and technical use, but also to an epistemological analysis of the logical relations obtaining within its tacitly presupposed conceptual background. The argument here attempts to elucidate the structure of this conceptual or theoretical background, especially as it applies to information technologies and computers.
No man sees what things are, that knows not what they ought to be.
