Abstract

Metallic glasses exhibit a combination of remarkable properties, which are directly derived from their glassy state. However, similar to glass ceramic or pyroceram some partially crystalline metallic glasses (R. Cahn, 1983: pyromets) possess improved properties, e.g. higher ductility (1), less magnetic core loss for high frequency applications (2), or stronger flux pinning interactions in superconducting metallic glasses (3).
