Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to present the experimental device which has been developed at INSA LYON (Ref. 1), in order to study the buckling behavior of cylindrical shells under axial loading or lateral pressure.
Specific measurement systems are necessary for these types of tests. In particular, we describe an original application of the projected fringes method to the case of a complete cylindrical shell. Also experimental results are presented.
