Abstract
OIML Metrological Regulations for Load Cell IR-60 require a 4-hour creep test in which the total change shall not exceed 1.5 times the absolute value of the maximum permissible error. This test has to be performed at room temperature, in addition to the lower and higher temperature ranges specified for the device which are usually from −10°C to 40°C. Because of the lack of loading equipment, it is physically impossible for a load cell manufacturer to test each and every load cell for this characteristic. As a result, shorter test time periods have to be used and that necessitates the development of some method of prediction in order to extrapolate this shorter test time period data over longer periods of time.
