Abstract
In recent years, more and more patients have undergone cardiovascular surgery for coronary artery disease (CAD) and cardiologists, surgeons and anaesthetists have shifted the emphasis onto the complex problems concerning CAD. The acquisition of skill and knowledge has minimized mortality and morbidity of patients undergoing myocardial revascularization and several authors report a low operative mortality (1–3%) (1–5).
