Abstract

Ruptured aneurysm of sinus of Valsalva is a relatively uncommon condition. The incidence has been reported to be higher in Oriental than in Western countries. In the Shanghai Chest Hospital, there have been 75 patients operated upon in the past 25 years in 13,052 patients with major cardiovascular operations for both congenital and acquired heart diseases, an incidence of 0.57%.[1]
