Abstract
Depressive illness and cancer are both common and frequently co-exist in the same patient. In considering the relationship betweeen them, it is important to review our knowledge of the cause of depressive illness in cancer patients, its symptoms and the diagnostic difficulties Also the prevalence of depressive illness in cancer practice and the prevention of such illness.
