Abstract
This case describes a needs assessment of 10 Pittsburgh middle schools. The case is divided into five major sections. These include a description of the original context surrounding the district’s request for a needs assessment, the methods used in the assessment, and examples of results generated by the research. The final sections contain discussions of the dissemination process and the use made of the results by the school district managers.
