Abstract
Ever since the technique of saturation diving (where divers live under pressure and cannot be decompressed to the surface quickly) was introduced, there has been debate in the commercial diving industry about the arrangements which would be needed to evacuate these divers from a ship or structure which was on fire or in other danger.
