Synopsis
The tensile stress-strain properties of emulsion ABS with different rubber concentrations (4 to 20 wt.%) and different acrylonitrile contents (24 to 33 wt. % AN) have been investigated. It has been observed that the toughness exhibits a specific pattern as function of the strain rate as well as a function of the temperature. A peak is observed for the toughness which shifts to higher strain rates if the rubber concentration, the acrylonitrile content or the temperature is increased.
