Evaluation methods in the United States

  • Chapter
Wildlife Conservation Evaluation

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to discuss several wildlife evaluation techniques which are currently used in the United States. The chapter is divided into two sections: the first deals with evaluating wildlife and habitat for the purpose of establishing areas designated principally for the protection of wildlife (nature preserves). The second section deals with wildlife habitat evaluation for management and includes environmental assessment and conflict avoidance. In each case, only a few of the more important systems are discussed.
