Abstract

The effect of different cell densities of marine Chlorella sp. on the growth rate, doubling time and production of the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis was investigated. A significant increase in rotifer production was achieved at a density of 50 × 106 Chlorella cells ml-1. The nutritional quality of rotifers grown at different concentrations of Chlorella is discussed.
