Summary

This workshop brought together many of the leading experts on sediments and sediment contaminants in Europe and North America with the purpose of discussing the role of in situ contaminants in terms of: processes, impacts, methods, socio-economic ramifications and remedial options, both in broad terms and in terms of case studies. The following summaries have been synthesized from the discussions of five Working Groups (Appendix 1).
