Summary
Regular field observations were made on egg masses laid on leaves over the outflow from Millbarn Pond in Berkshire in autumn 1984. More egg masses were laid on wct nights, and many were in contact with others. The egg masses are described. Larvae, reared in the laboratory from 9 egg masses, gave rise to 40 male and 44 female adults of Glyphotaelius pellucidus in March and April 1985. The suggestion by another worker that similar egg masses, collected at the same site in 1974, had been laid by Nemotaulius punctatolineatus is rejected.
