Abstract
The characterization of pollution climates in Europe, and the deposition of pollutants in terrestrial ecosystems were the topics discussed in Session I of this Symposium and during a Workshop held in Bern, Switzerland (27 – 30 April 1987). This report attempts to summarize some of the main results from these discussions and to indentify important needs for future research.
