Summary

The capabilities of high resolution diode laser spectroscopy applied to the trace gas analysis of polyatomic molecules have been investigated. The experiments have been carried out with a pulsed diode spectrometer with periodic, frequency scanning and frequency scale reproducibility of 10−4 cm −1 for an hour and an optical cell length of 1 m. A method with an absorption sensitivity increased up to 10 has been developed. The correlation processing, method was applied to large spectral ranges including 103 – 104 lines allowing an additional signal/noise ratio increase to be obtained. An analog processing7 method with high resonance absorption sensitivity of 10−6 ∓ 10−7 and a time constant of 1 s was also used.
