Abstract

A non-commutative version of the Hájek-Rényi inequality is given. This result plays a similar role in the theory of limit theorems in von Neumann algebras as the Hájek-Rényi inequality does in the classical case, namely, it simplifies the proofs of some strong laws of large numbers.
