Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Laser Scattering Techniques at High Pressure

  • Chapter
High Pressure Chemistry and Biochemistry

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 197))

Abstract

This review covers various aspects of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and laser Raman and Rayleigh spectroscopy at high pressure. The presentation is organized into the following main sections: 1. Introduction; 2. Experimental High Pressure NMR Techniques; 3. Experimental High Pressure Laser Scattering Techniques; 4. Applications of NMR at High Pressure; 5. Applications of Laser Raman Scattering at High Pressure. The main emphasis is on studies aimed towards improving our fundamental understanding of the dynamic structure of fluids but several examples dealing with disordered solids are also included.
