Abstract
China is a developing country. She has 9,600,000 km2 of territory and more than 1 billion of population, of which about 0.8 billion are living in the countryside. Today power shortage is still one of the most serious problems in China, especially in the rural area. AC power is not available at about 35% of villages or at 80,000,000 families in rural area. In such area, farmers and herdsmen are still using kerosine lights. They couldn’t pump water to irragate their farm land, couldn’t educate their children by TV programms. They have to process their grain by donkey pulled mill and process the milk by manual separator. In Drawing high-voltage power line or running diesel generators to support electricity for the remote area, the mountainous regions or the islands are very expensive. So people must find other way to solve the problem. The ideal answer is ---- photovoltaics.
