Abstract
We want to check the orientation of our experimental telescope, which has an equatorial mounting. When putting a telescope in operation, it is necessary to mount it in the right position, so that the coordinates of the stars may be directly read on the graduated circles. The essential requirement is that the polar axis should be directed exactly at the pole.
