Abstract

It was mentioned in the previous chapters that manganese enters the ocean from various sources and in various forms. Low contents of manganese in sea water demonstrates that manganese has a short residence time in the sea and sinks actively down to the bottom. The routes by which manganese arrives at the bottom have been considered many times with respect to chemical, biological and biochemical processes.
