Abstract
After a polymer colloid has been prepared it is important to characterize as completely as possible the properties of the particles formed. Usually, this means using more than one technique and requirements may well differ according to the ultimate use of the particles, whether it is, for example, basic academic research, industrial production or biomedical applications. Thus the characterization required will vary widely from user to user.
