Abstract

Coalfiring of powerplants in the Netherlands is applied again since 1978. Fluegas desulphurization was decided to be necessary for the first coal fired plant in 1982. In 1984 the legislation for SO2 in the Netherlands was decided as follows:

Only those powerstations that will be in operation after 1994 will have to fullfill these SO2 requirements.
