Abstract

In investigating the economics of solar systems, economic analyses should be carried out both technically in the form of system optimization and with a detailed cost/benefit assessment. In a given application the choice of system size, and design parameters influence greatly the performance of the solar system and hence its economics. Costs must, also be considered at the national and possibly the global level. Careful investigation of the potential macroeconomic and social impacts is essential in arriving at right, decisions concerned with solar energy.
