Abstract
In this lecture, several kinds of instrumentation for laser velocimetry are reviewed. As far as the laser optical marking of distances is concerned, the crossbeam setup and the dual focus setup are discussed. With respect to electronic circuity for the extraction of timing information, the frequency counter, the tracker with phase locked loop, the time to amplitude converter with multichannel analyzer, and the photon correlator are described. The presentation is tutorial and should enable the reader to work on velocimetry in the laboratory and to study original literature.
