Abstract
The thrust of this essay’s conclusion is toward hope’s bearing on theism. Analysis of deep hope yielded a distinction between ultimate hope and fundamental hope, and yielded arguments concerning what contributes to soundness in ultimate hopes. What is said of ultimate hope, fundamental hope, and absolute hope at the end of Part II is presumed here. This essay then set forth, with the aid of two models for ontologies, two different kinds of implication involved in hope’s trust. This was followed by presentation of how each of this essay’s philosophers linked hope and theism or atheism, with each’s own ontological framework as background.
