Abstract

With this paper, we have, in the main, set up the differential equation of motion of the ideal column in an elliptical arc communication tube with different end cross sections; and for the purpose of comparison, those for a circular arc and straight arms as well as with a solid vibrating piston have been cited. For all these cases displacement properties and dependence of the singularity point with the initial displacement of the liquid column are found.
