Abstract

Figure 3.1 represents the processing of a design through the design team of a large firm. Note that each of the subgroups within the design team may have had a different education and training; they will certainly have a different style of representing the design. This has a considerable impact on the requirements they each have of a CAD system. A smaller concern would not break down a design to the same degree because the size and complexity of their projects will tend to be less.
