Abstract

Iodine radionuclides have been used for many years for the simple and rapid labelling of biological substances, particularly antibodies. Amongst the thirty-two known isotopes of iodine, iodine-123 and iodine-131 are the most routinely used because of their physical properties (Figure 1).
