Abstract
Measurements on extraction of substances from coronary blood are often performed to obtain information about the condition of the myocytes. Mostly, these measurements are interpreted by means of models that must predict the microscopical conditions from the macroscopical measurements. For very good reasons modelers tend to keep the models simple. In particular the vascular anatomy of the heart is simplified to either well mixed compartments in which the biochemical reactions take place (5, 8, 15), or to a parallel aligned number of vessels (9, 10, 11).
