Abstract

In the rapidly developing field of MRI it is impossible and beyond the scope of this book to indicate all future developments of MRI.

Two developments, however, are already of clinical importance and influence the diagnostic quality of MRI considerably. The first is the family of techniques that employs a gradient reversal rather than a 180° refocussing RF pulse for the production of an echo signal, commonly, called the gradient-echo techniques.
