Abstract
Patients with clinically suspected intracranial tumours are as a rule examined with computed tomography before and after intravenous injection of contrast medium. This is often sufficient to establish an accurate diagnosis especially in tumours which enhance after contrast injection. Expanding lesions which only lower the attenuation diffusely are much more difficult to delineate.
