Abstract
Human helper T-cell clones (TLC) are exquisite tools for obtaining detailed information about which foreign antigenic epitopes and HLA class II restriction determinants are co-recognized by the T-cell receptor (reviewed in Ref. 15). Different techniques for generating TLC have been described, of which cloning under limiting dilution conditions has received most attention (15). For human antigen-specific helper TLC, the requirement for autologous or HLA class II identical antigen-presenting cells (APC) is well documented (see, for example, Refs 3, 4, 17 and 19).
