Measurement of accommodative changes in human eyes by means of a high-resolution ultrasonic system

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Documenta Ophthalmologica Proceedings Series ((DOPS,volume 48))

Abstract

The measurement of accommodative changes by means of ultrasound has been described in the literature by different authors (Storey & Rabie, 1984). Due to the older technique of the ultrasonic devices most often these examinations are performed in a stationary manner: The intraocular distances are measured with and without accommodation (Coleman et al., 1969). In cases of photographic documentation and off line evaluation the measurements evaluated only give information on the steady state conditions of the eye, and are deteriorated by a relatively high degree of systematic error.
