Abstract

Economics is a science of social change. Man lives by doing; his destiny is to create. The art, artifact, or mode of doing is what determines his control over his natural environment and his freedom to live, whether the product of his efforts is tangible or intangible. Joining hands to do things improves results. Hence, the social dimension of work is omnipresent and especially worthy of attention; this is the unique claim to virtue of economists.
